Carpenter

About the role

We are looking for a Carpenter to carry out a wide range of carpentry and property maintenance work across housing, local authority, care, retirement, school and commercial properties. Most work is in occupied homes and client buildings, so you will deal directly with customers, tenants, housing association staff, care home teams and school facilities staff, and represent APBS professionally on every job.

What you will do

• First and second fix carpentry, skirting, architraves, handrails, balustrades and stair components
• Internal and external doors, frames, ironmongery, locks and door closers
• Fire door repairs and adjustments, and installation where appropriately trained
• Flooring, boxing in, cupboards, shelving and bespoke timber items
• Window repairs, fencing, gates, sheds and other external timber work
• Associated making good, plastering, tiling, plumbing and general repairs

What you need

• Proven experience as a carpenter, ideally in repairs and maintenance
• Able to work independently and as part of the APBS team
• Good customer service when working in occupied properties
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
